Bayern Munich’s bid to avoid a trophyless season will face a stern test on Tuesday when Real Madrid visit Allianz Arena for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.
The two clubs, who have won a combined 20 titles in the competition, last played a competitive fixture at the same stage of the 2017-18 Champions League, when Real Madrid won 4-3 on aggregate on the way to their 13th title.
Six-time former champions Bayern have won their last four games in all competitions and are unbeaten in 15 consecutive Champions League home matches.
Real haven’t tasted defeat since losing to local rivals Atletico in the Copa del Rey in January though, picking up 13 wins and five draws in their last 18 matches in all competitions.
