West Ham United has initiated contact for Tammy Abraham. Sources confirms the striker’s readiness to return to the Premier League.
The former Chelsea man, sold to AS Roma for £34m, now stands at a crossroads.
Tammy Abraham joined AS Roma in the summer of 2021 from Chelsea. The Serie A side paid £34m to secure his talents. He quickly impressed by providing two assists on his debut against Fiorentina on August 22, 2021.
Abraham’s early career at Roma showcased his flair. He netted his first goal against Salernitana and scored on his Coppa Italia debut against Lecce. A brace in the Rome derby against Lazio further endeared him to the fans.
The striker broke records during his debut season by reaching 27 goals in all competitions. His performances helped Roma clinch their first UEFA trophy with a Europa Conference League win on May 25, 2022. His breakthrough set high expectations for his future.
His second season proved challenging. Abraham scored only nine goals and battled with goal droughts. He played in the Europa League final against Sevilla and suffered an ACL injury on June 4, 2023.

Abraham made a strong comeback. He returned in the Rome derby on April 6, 2024, and scored his first goal since the injury on April 28. He then moved to AC Milan on loan for the 2024–25 season.
At AC Milan, Abraham has delivered solid numbers with eight goals and four assists in 35 appearances. He scored his first Milan goal with a penalty against Venezia on September 14, 2024. Later, he netted in the Champions League on November 26. Milan does not plan to make his loan deal permanent. The former Aston Villa loanee will return to Roma at the season’s end.
Abraham struck a stoppage-time winner in the Supercoppa Italiana against Inter on January 6, 2025. He also scored a brace against Roma to knock them out of the Coppa Italia on February 5, 2025.
Roma extended his contract until 2027 to safeguard his value, and they plan to reinvest funds in a new striker. West Ham, Everton, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Fulham, and Leeds United have shown keen interest in the 27-year-old.
The Hammers also link with Lille forward Jonathan David. Manchester United target West Ham defender Jean-Clair Todibo, and Manchester City back Jack Grealish for a move. Sources say Abraham remains open to a Premier League return in the summer transfer window.
