The head of the group that is behind Luis Diaz’s father’s kidnap claims they have made a mistake and should have released his father.
There are around 150 uniformed military personnel in the area of Barracanas as the local authorities are looking forward to finishing the operation and releasing Luiz Diaz’s father. Peace talks with ELN continue, with the group that is labeled as terrorists by the US authorities.
Meanwhile, the head of the ELN group Antonio Garcia said in his telegram channel that Lucho is a symbol of Colombia…
“The retention of Luis Diaz’s father by the Northern War Front was a mistake.” The leftist group was identified behind the Luiz Manuel Diaz abduction.
The ELN group had promised to secure the 58th-year-old a quick release, but this is still to be put into practice. The National Police and the Colombian army are in Barrancas to help facilitate the handover process, with any possible armed clash not being counted as an option.

“There is an expressed wish on the part of the ELN leaders to free him as soon as possible. But the hours are passing, and as this goes on in time, the situation in which Mr Diaz is in becomes very dangerous.”
The Liverpool striker is back in training and hopes for the positive ending as this was one of the big cases in Colombia.
