Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic is set to join Las Palmas after terminating his loan spell at Red Bull Salzburg.
The 20-year-old, who broke into Liverpool’s first team during the 2022-23 season, had moved to Austria in search of regular game time but has struggled for consistent minutes. His time at Salzburg has been marked by limited opportunities, and with his role diminishing under new management, a switch to Spain now looks imminent.
Bajcetic, highly rated for his composure and technical ability in midfield, had a frustrating spell in Austria. Despite making 19 appearances, he started only eight times and has not been in the starting XI since early December. The departure of Pep Lijnders, the former Liverpool assistant who had brought him to Salzburg, further complicated his situation.
