Sheffield Wednesday vs Burnley match preview, lineups, where to watch live stream, international TV coverage, and world time zones.

Burnley is looking to climb to the top of the Championship table as they return from the international break this Saturday, facing Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. The visitors are currently just one point shy of the top two after nine league matches, while their hosts have moved up to 15th place after finding their form before the break.

Sheffield Wednesday is eager to pick up where they left off. After a shaky start to their Championship campaign, they’ve bounced back, hoping to build on their momentum from last season’s survival. Danny Rohl’s side struggled early, earning only four points from their first six games, and they conceded 12 goals over five of those outings after an opening-day win.

However, they turned things around with an exciting 3-2 win over then-leaders West Bromwich Albion, thanks to Anthony Musaba’s dramatic 86th-minute winner. That was followed by a solid goalless draw away at Bristol City. Their final game before the break saw another late win, with Djeidi Gassama equalizing just before half-time and Shea Charles sealing a 2-1 victory against Coventry City with a stoppage-time goal.

Now unbeaten in three and just a point outside the top 10, Sheffield Wednesday is determined to extend their streak to four matches with another win. But they face a tough challenge, as Burnley is also in fine form, riding a six-game unbeaten streak in the Championship.

Burnley, aiming for a swift return to the Premier League under new manager Scott Parker, currently sits third in the league with 18 points from nine games. Their strong start is largely due to their defensive solidity, conceding just four goals across those matches, including only two in their recent unbeaten run, though they’ve managed just five goals themselves during that stretch.

Following wins over Leeds United and Portsmouth, and a goalless draw with Oxford United, Burnley earned a fifth league victory against Plymouth Argyle, with Josh Brownhill scoring the only goal. However, they were held to a draw against Preston North End just before the break.

Despite their low-scoring form, Burnley has plenty of positives to take from their solid defense. They’ll be keen to return to action with a bang and overcome their scoring struggles with a decisive win at Hillsborough.
