Serbia’s Bogdan Bogdanovic Injured in EuroBasket Game
The Serbian national team faced a setback during their EuroBasket game against Portugal as Bogdan Bogdanovic was forced to exit the court due to an apparent hamstring injury. Serving as the national team’s captain, Bogdanovic sustained the injury on a drive to the basket in the second quarter. Despite his early departure, Serbia managed to secure an 80-69 victory, with Nikola Jokic leading with 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Nikola Jovic adding 18 points.
Bogdanovic, who ended the game with seven points and five rebounds, was seen grabbing the back of his thigh before being absent from the bench in the second half. Commentator Slobodan Sarenac revealed that Bogdanovic remained in the locker room for further evaluation, stating that scans would be necessary to assess the extent of the injury. The player had previously dealt with hamstring issues in the 2024-25 season but had a strong finish with the Clippers, averaging 11.4 points and 3.2 assists in 25 minutes per game off the bench.
Aside from Bogdanovic’s injury, Team Serbia also faced the ejection of Filip Petrusev after just four minutes of play for what was deemed a violent act during a box out situation.
