Santi Aldama delivered a standout performance with 21 points and 14 rebounds as the Memphis Grizzlies demolished the Golden State Warriors 144-93 on Thursday night.
The Grizzlies set a franchise record with 27 made three-pointers, marking the largest margin of victory in the NBA this season.
Memphis came out firing, dominating the game from start to finish and extending their hot streak to 11 wins in their last 13 games. Jake LaRavia contributed 19 points, while Jaren Jackson Jr. added 17. Luke Kennard and Aldama were particularly lethal from beyond the arc, each sinking five three-pointers to lead the Grizzlies’ perimeter barrage.
The Warriors, on the other hand, endured a nightmare outing. Stephen Curry was held without a field goal for the first time in recent memory, finishing with just two points on 0-of-7 shooting, including 0-of-6 from three-point range. Newly acquired point guard Dennis Schröder struggled in his debut, managing only five points on a dismal 2-of-12 shooting effort.

Golden State’s lackluster offensive showing contributed to their worst loss since a 140-88 drubbing by Boston last season. Brandin Podziemski was a rare bright spot for the Warriors, leading the team with 21 points, while Andrew Wiggins added 19 in the losing effort.
The Grizzlies’ first-half dominance set the tone for the blowout. Memphis shot an efficient 51% from the field and nailed 12 of 25 three-point attempts, taking a commanding 69-38 lead into halftime. Conversely, the Warriors floundered, shooting a dismal 23% overall and 7 of 24 from beyond the arc in the first half.
Aldama’s performance anchored Memphis’ historic night, but the team’s collective effort was equally impressive. The Grizzlies finished the game shooting 56.3% from deep, a new high-water mark for the franchise with 27 triples made. Their previous record of 25 threes, set against Houston in 2023, was shattered in a stunning display of offensive firepower.
For the Warriors, Curry’s off night was a glaring low point. The two-time MVP missed all 10 of his combined field-goal attempts alongside Schröder, as the duo went a combined 2 of 19 from the floor. Despite his struggles, Curry achieved a personal milestone with his 1,500th career steal, joining an elite group of players who have accumulated 24,000 points, 6,000 assists, and 1,500 steals in their careers.
Golden State Bench did not Work
Golden State’s bench was unable to provide much relief, and their defensive lapses allowed Memphis to maintain an unrelenting pace. By the final buzzer, the Grizzlies had exposed every weakness in the Warriors’ game, handing them their eighth loss in the last 10 outings.
The win further cements Memphis’ reputation as one of the NBA’s most dangerous teams when firing on all cylinders. Their ability to dominate from beyond the arc, coupled with Aldama’s breakout performance, underscores the depth and versatility of this surging squad.
For the Warriors, the loss raises questions about their consistency and cohesion as they look to rebound on Saturday night against Minnesota. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, will carry their momentum into a matchup against Atlanta, aiming to extend their impressive run.
Memphis’ commanding victory not only shattered records but also sent a clear message to the league: the Grizzlies are a force to be reckoned with, especially when their shooters are locked in. As for Golden State, this humbling defeat serves as a stark reminder of the challenges they face in an increasingly competitive Western Conference.
