Romelu Lukaku joined Roma on Loan with the Yellow-Reds who are willing to pay £35 million pounds to Chelsea to have him in the team.
Jose Mourinho calls him a complete attacker and wants to have him available for the next seasons in the Italian capital. He would accept to give his farewell to the Belgian National team also and this can create more options for him in Rome, where he is passing a moment of Renaissance.
He confessed the reasons why he left Inter and he added if he told the truth everyone would be shocked.
“Most of the people in the room know me. You know I don’t like to skirt around a topic. I will speak in due time, I will wait for the right moment. But if I actually said how last summer went, everyone would be shocked.”
Then Lukaku speaks about his identity as a sportsman and compares himself with Lebron James.
“The first few days after Istanbul I felt a bit uncomfortable, but my mind was off from what had happened in the days before. I’ll talk about that later.” Big Rom endured in silence: “I’m like LeBron James, he’s been playing for many years and had to endure a lot of things. But every summer he works hard and proves everyone wrong.
“I also respond on the pitch. Many things have been said about me, but I am focused on Rome and Belgium. I worked hard all summer, as you can see I’m in good shape and I want to continue like this. Even the Roma coaching staff was impressed by my form upon my arrival. It’s the field that speaks.”
Romelu mentioned and thanked Al Hilal for their interest, but saw Europe as a priority and said that he would continue his career at Roma.
Lukaku has scored seven goals with Rome and will face Inter in San Siro on 29 October, with fans that surely won’t reserve a warm welcome for him.
