The match started with PSG in the attack and creating from the back. They attacked in the first minutes and wanted to create in both wings with Hernandez and Hakimi.
Dembele executed a free kick in the 10th without risking too much and had to reorganize the attacks. Sabitzer was injured on the 13th and had to leave the pitch. He was replaced by Felix Nmecha.
Vitinha had the best chance to score in the 18th minute, but his shot hit the right post of Gregor Kobel.
Emre Can tried from the edge of the box, but his shot ended wide in the 23rd. PSG and Dortmund were nullifying each other in the first 30 minutes. Kolo Muani tried one in the 33rd minute but his shot was blocked by Mats Hummels.
PSG were playing better
Paris tried to hit the target 10 times and Dortmund 3 times after 36 minutes had passed. Karim Adeyemi and Lucas Hernandez had a heated moment in the 37th, but none of the players was punished by the referee.
Marquinhos had a chance with a header in the 38th and Dembele tried again in the 39th minute inside the zone with a shot but it was saved by Kobel. It was only one team on the field and this was Paris, at least in the last minutes of the first half.
Adeyemi and Malen had to create more to compete in the second half and to risk more the target of Gianluigi Donnarumma. Three minutes were added on and the result remained unchanged with Mbappe having the last run in the 47th minute.

The second half started with Paris in the attack and they won a penalty in the 47th. Sule deflected the ball with his right hand and Mbappe had to make it from 12 yards.
Mbappe finds the back of the net in the 48th with a powerful shot defeating Kobel on his right side.
Paris had the possession in the first minutes of the second half and they found the second in a matter of minutes.
Hakimi and Vitinha combined in the zone and Hakimi scored in the 58th with the outside of his right foot. Paris was leading with two goals with an hour on the watch.
Mbappe initiated an attack on the right in the 61st but his pass was interrupted by Hummels.
Malen left the pitch after trying with a shot two minutes earlier for Niclas Fullkrug. Terzic replaced Brandt with Reus in the 63rd minute.
Schlotterbeck tackled Dembele in the 67th and he received a yellow. Emre Can got a yellow for pushing Hakimi.

Terzic decided to bring the 19-year-old Jamie Bynoe-Gittens for Emre Can. Dortmund had to change something here. Bynoe-Gittens found the post three minutes later on the 79th.
Marius Wolf was replaced by Ramy Bensebaini in the 79th due to an injury. Paris made their subs putting Goncalo Ramos and Kang In Lee for Randal Kolo Muani and Vitinha in the 80th.
Dembele and Ramos combined in the 85th, but Ramos could do much sending his shot way over the crossbar. Fullkrug responded in the 87th with a header but his shot ended wide.
Paris secured the match by replacing Hernandez with Danilo in the 88th and the game took the desired direction for the home side.
Mbappe had the last chance of the game with the attacker being 1v1 with Kobel and sends wide a perfect chance in the 91st. This was only the first chance with the second that was in the 93rd, in the zone and with Kobel defeated. He found only the publicity tabs.
Ramos scored in the 96th, but his goal was ruled out for offside.
The match ended 2-0 with the home side that played a better football. For Dortmund, the next games will be decisive for their fate in this group.
