Pochettino gives updates on the returns and hopes for positive results starting from Bournemouth.

Mauricio Pochettino opened his press conference on Romeo Lavia’s injury and the time he needs to be back on the pitch.

“We are a little bit disappointed because he trained really well last week during the international break and he twisted his ankle now we are waiting for the full Monday assessment from the doctor. Hope that is not a big issue but in the last week I’ve not trained with the team.

“It is a sad situation because he was nearly fit to be involved again with the team and yes we need to do an assessment and hope that is not a big issue for him and for the team.”

Pochettino answered on what could be a report from Albania linked with one of the most promising strikers Armando Broja. He responded that he knows Sylvinho and Zabaleta well and they have a very good relationship, but Armando Broja is not ready to play.

The coach spoke about Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo saying that they’ve just come back and Enzo is in very good shape scoring against Bolivia and he is ready to play.

Poch also mentioned Reece James’s return and gave the return date and the spirit that surrounds the team.

“The spirit despite the result, yes and that is a process. And yes that is a process that we need to understand and of course is a matter of time like I told you should talk in a different way if the result or details should be different.”

This season should and would be more productive for Chelsea and one of the reasons is that Chelsea is not participating in UEFA competitions.

“With the circumstances, I think it is better for us because we have 11-12 injured players and I think it is a very short squad at the moment because there are not too many available and I think we are going to play against Bournemouth. 14-15 players and I think it is important that we can recover players and be more competitive. Of course, the objective of Chelsea is to be involved in the European competitions.”

Pochettino commented on the away record and says every game is must win and if you don’t win then you have problems.
