Spain scored first in the 20th minute with Alvaro Morata after a cross by Daniel Carvajal to send La Roja ahead. After checking with the VAR, the goal was disallowed for offside.
Spain had the ball possession and was advancing on the right side with Dani Carvajal and Ferran Torres on the right side. Carvajal tried to score from distance in the 28th, but his shot ended again wide.
Robin Le Normand and Oscar Bobb were punished with a yellow card on the 30th and 31st respectively. The game was turning aggressive with both squads eager for spaces in the midfield.

Bobb left the play for Nusa and Berg for Sorleoth to change the midfield and the attack. Martin Odegaard had the best chance for Norway in the 63rd, but his shot ended wide off the right post. Alvaro Morata got a yellow card and this complicated things for Spain’s attack.
Spain subbed Ferran Torres with Alfonso Pedraza in the 71st to turn defensive and to manage the advantage.
Norway responded by replacing Stefan Strandberg with Kristoffer Ajer. Aursners was replaced by Thorstvelt in the 77th minute.
Oihan Sancet replaced Gavi to double the security on the right side. Luis de La Fuente knew that the three points would mean qualification.
Halaand could send it 1-1 with a shot in the 84th, but his shot was saved by Unai Simon.
Rodri received a yellow in the 86th and this was a sign for Norway to insist on the equalizer.
