The Newcastle manager spoke after the loss with Brighton and said that the result could be different, but after all he wants to continue forward in the next games.
“Tough result for us. Could have been very different in the early stages of the game. Good chances. Different moments of the game, we also had some good chances. Did not take them and yeah the goals we conceded were especially the first one was a tough one.”
“I would say that the first goal was always a key moment in any Premier League game and I think that probably dented our confidence, especially after the last week. So I think they’re, not just the goal, but the manner of the goal it was messy from our prespective.”
“And from then on, I think the game was probably not the game we wanted to be in the second goal. Probably again comes at our best moment, where we’re fighting our way. The subs had come on and made a difference and nothing, they score again.”
It seemed that the game was a one-direction game, with Brighton scoring in all the chances and winning the game. Howe knows exactly the way to overcome the situation and to build the right strategy for his team to perform well and in high levels.
“I’m very realistic, Greg [the journalist], of course there is concerns when you’re not winning and we’ve lost three games in a row so I’m not naive to that. But then you have to look at factors and reasons and fixtures was very tough for us.”
And Newcastle play in Milan after the international break and for Howe this is the real test.
“I think my job is to be very calm and analyze where we can get better and go to work and do it.”
The next few games will test the quality Newcastle has as they need points and they need them quickly.
