The Minnesota Vikings’ Jalen Nailor might unexpectedly suit up in Week 1 to face the Chicago Bears, providing a much-needed boost to the team’s receiving corps.
The Vikings have been sweating over their receiver depth lately. With concerns surrounding Justin Jefferson’s hamstring and Jordan Addison’s suspension, the spotlight now turns to Nailor, who has been nursing a left knee injury. Despite initial worries, ESPN’s Kevin Seifert reports that there’s optimism around Nailor’s availability for the Monday Night Football showdown against the Bears.
Nailor’s injury saga started with a left hand issue on August 14, sidelining him ever since, according to Seifert. Vikings’ head coach Kevin O’Connell labeled the injury as ‘week to week.’ If Nailor can take on a full workload in Addison’s absence, he could see an elevated role as the expected WR3 for the team.
Entering a contract year, Nailor is looking to build on his impressive previous season stats, where he recorded 28 receptions for 414 yards and six touchdowns. His return would be a significant boost for a wide receiver unit that needs to step up alongside second-year talent.
