Marcel Sabitzer completed his transfer to Borussia Dortmund and it is now one of the most important parts of the squad, headed by Edin Terzic.
The Austrian, 29 years old will be one of the main men in the squad that plays in the UEFA Champions League. His role at the center of the midfield will help Dortmund compete with Bayern Munich for the title in Germany.

“It was how you imagine it to be with a transfer: a lot to do! We had a lot of talks and those responsible made my role very clear to me. It then took a few days before I made a decision. I’m just really happy to be here now.”
“I had a good year in Manchester and then of course I thought about how to proceed. I then went back to Munich and looked at everything, but those in charge there wanted to continue differently. That had to be accepted. Dortmund is always attractive and it’s nice to be here now.”

Marcel Sabitzer spoke also about the connection with the coach Edin Terzic and how he is gonna be adapted to the squad.
“Of course, the coach played a big role. We had a very long phone call that lasted almost an hour. There he showed me very clearly how he saw me and where he saw my strengths, but also my weaknesses. That has I was very impressed. He was very clear in his analysis. It’s very comforting when you know the coach knows you and knows so much about you, even though you didn’t really know each other.”
“A lot is possible with the team! I perceived BVB as very good from afar. They won a lot of games and were also very successful in the Champions League. We’re not that far off the top, but we first have to prepare well and then want to be at the forefront.”
His new position in the field
Sabitzer understands how frustrating it could be for the players not to win the title in the last minutes. After all, Dortmund remains a big squad and it has all the qualities to repeat the last year’s drama.
