Man Utd Coaches Under Fire: Hojlund’s Goal Drought Sparks Urgent Change

Manchester United’s coaching staff have grown visibly frustrated with striker Rasmus Hojlund.

The 22‐year‐old Denmark international now faces a harsh reality: he has failed to score in 16 consecutive appearances, with 12 of those coming as a starter.

Hojlund arrived from Atalanta for a fee of £64m, potentially rising to £72m. He enjoyed an impressive debut season at Old Trafford, netting 16 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.

However, since the arrival of manager Ruben Amorim, Hojlund’s output has plummeted. His current form has raised alarm bells among the coaching team, prompting serious questions about his role in the squad.

The Manchester Evening News recently reported that United’s coaches are “losing patience” with Hojlund. Although fellow striker Joshua Zirkzee has also struggled, the spotlight remains firmly on Hojlund, especially following the 1-0 defeat at Tottenham.

Despite the mounting criticism, insiders claim that staff continue to encourage Hojlund during training sessions. They work hard to help him regain his sharpness and confidence on the pitch.

Amid these concerns, Manchester United now aim to secure a new starting striker. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the club is eyeing Victor Osimhen as a potential game-changer.

Osimhen’s release clause stands at €120m, but it will drop to around €75m-€80m if no club activates it in June. The Napoli forward currently earns about £200,000 a week after tax, and United expect to make his move official on or after July 1.

In other transfer news, United are considering a double free agent coup with Lille duo Angel Gomes and Jonathan David. Additionally, Amorim has urged the club to sign Sporting CP’s 17-year-old Geovany Quenda, with a deal expected to cost between €40m-€60m (£33m-£50m).
