Liverpool may have found their ideal successor for Mo Salah in Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush, with the club already making contact with his agents.
The 25-year-old Marmoush, currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt, has been lighting up the Bundesliga since joining on a free transfer in May 2023. Egyptian journalist Tarek Metwally believes that Marmoush could become a player of Salah’s caliber, if not greater. He’s noted that Marmoush, at 25, may be even more developed than Salah was at the same age, with a strong combination of speed and skill that makes him perfect for the Premier League.
In Metwally’s words, Marmoush’s talents extend beyond speed—he’s already a more complete player. Many fans in Egypt, according to Metwally, would love to see him play in the Premier League and bring his talents to a top club.
This admiration for Marmoush is mirrored by Egypt’s fan base, with his recent performances captivating viewers. When Marmoush scored twice against Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer, Egyptian fans reacted with the same excitement they typically reserve for Salah’s big games.
Bild journalist Christian Falk has also remarked on Marmoush’s ambition, noting the player’s interest in the Premier League and his openness to Liverpool or Arsenal should offers arise. With Liverpool’s recent contact, Marmoush’s dream of a Premier League move could soon become a reality.
Interestingly, Liverpool may consider fast-tracking the process and making an offer as soon as January, though that would likely depend on Salah’s own decision about his future.
