Karolina Muchova was very excited about reaching the semifinals and her form in this match shows that she is a tough contender for every opponent in this US Open.
She defeated Sorana Cistea, 0-6; 3-6 to reach the semis and played a really good game. This time Muchova showed an amazing form reacting on every ball and not allowing the opponent to take control of the match.
“I was like I’ll just try to play aggressively, nothing to lose, and won the two points then I felt I had a chance. So, I tried to keep the focus, get a chance, use it, and am very happy with that.”
Asked by the journalists about the first set that she won 6-0 she responded in this way:
“It was 6-0 but the games we played were pretty closed so the score does not show how close the game was, but it was tough. I don’t know one game felt like we played 15 minutes from use to add, so 6-0 but I didn’t feel like it went very easy.”
“So still, I had to fight for every game and I think it was very important to break her back when it was 0-2 in the second set and I’m really glad that I pulled it there. because then I held my serve and got back into the game, just hold the serve. So very important game.”
“I felt very good actually from the start to the end. I had a good feeling with the ball from the baseline. I felt good on the net, slicing and with my old game I mean I really like the court and the atmosphere and I was enjoying and I think that it is like adding up a little bit to the game and to the court for me.”
This semi will be more difficult for Muchova who finds Gauff in the semis and need to show all their strong points in order to reach the final.
