Jorginho is heavily linked with a transfer to Camp Nou with nine months in the contract with Arsenal.
The option of renewal with another year with Arsenal exists but there is an obstacle between him and the coach, who prefers Rice and Odegaard in the starting eleven.
The interest of the players has been increased and he can accept a reduction in salary in order to be transferred to Camp Nou. Currently, Oriol Romeu is holding the place of the central midfielder and Barca needs a younger player to replace him.
His agent Joao Santos has met the sporting director Mateu Alemany to discuss a move and to transfer Jorginho to Camp Nou. When he was still part of Napoli in Serie A the agent told the press that Barca had a philosophy similar to Napoli’s and this was seen as an indication for a move in Catalunya.
But nothing changed and Jorginho became part of Chelsea in 2018 with the Blues paid £45 million to transfer the midfielder from Napoli.
Today the discussions are different and the agent has real chances to transfer the player from Arsenal.
The plans of Barca’s main man will decide if the player can be an added value for his tactics or not. For the moment he will respect the movements of the sporting director Alemany and then decide for further involvement or not.
