Dwight McNeil had a chance in the 15th minute but his shot ended wide at the right post of Flekken.
Mykolenko has a chance after a deflected ball by Pinnock, but his attempt is saved by Flekken again in the 21st.
The two squads produced good football and Everton had something more in the first half.

Both teams were fighting in the midfield and this meant tackles and fouls. Bryan Mbuembo trips Idrissa Gana in the 34th.
Beto had the perfect chance with the pass of Idrissa Gana Gueye but his attempt went wide the left post of Flekken in the 37th.
The first half was so intense and Mbuemo risked a cross-shot that could have been the perfect assist for Lewis-Potter, but he couldn’t score inches wide of the right post of Jordan Pickford.
Idrissa Gueye had a chance in the 44th, but his attempt went wide. Gueye provided a pass for Beto in the 45th, but he shot well wide. These two chances were a sign of a quick connection between the Everton players and how well they found themselves in the space.
Both managers would think for the second half as their teams could arrive so easily in each other’s box.
The second half was underway and Brentford had possession first creating on the midfield.
Everton tried with Beto, but Flekken was there to save in the 51st minute. The two teams were in the midfield possession preparing the terrain for possible subs later. Thomas Frank and Sean Dyche had something in mind to change the match outcome.
Amadou Onana had a chance with a header in the 58th minute after a pass with Tarkowski who is the best player in the Blue Merseyside’s side.
This is the perfect time to make the changes in the game and Frank was the first to change Roeslev with Kristoffer Vassbakk and Vitaly Janelt with Frank Onyenka in the 62nd.
Dyche substituted Beto with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 64th.
Now Brentford had the perfect chance to start from the left side with fresh legs. But was Everton who broke the deadlock in the second half.
James Tarkowski, who was the man of the match, finds a header in the 67th after McNeil’s cross from the corner and scores.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin the hero that returned after the injury scored in th 71st to secure the points for Everton. The keeper touched the ball but could not do much to keep the ball out.

Everton had secured the game and for Dyche’s tactics, this was a sign of improvement from the other matches. He won a player and this player was Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Bryan Mbuemo got a yellow for pushing Dwight McNeil in the 77th. He had a chance a minute later with the cross by Saman Ghoddos, but his volley ended wide.
Saman Ghodos pushed Ashley Young in a game that was becoming nervous and received a yellow in the 82nd.
Lewis-Potter came with a cross and Pickford was there to save the ball in the 86th.
Kean Lewis-Potter left the pitch for Michael Olakigbe and he had 7 minutes to create something for Brentford.
Olakigbe was blocked in the last minutes by Braithwaite and the match was coming to an end. Everton won with two goals difference and this was the first win in this Premier League season.
