Chelsea are making a bold move for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao. The Blues now rival Barcelona after his price tag dropped.
Earlier, Chelsea considered Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho in January. They passed on him due to his steep £70m valuation.
The Blues remain eager to boost their wing options this summer. Spanish outlet AS reports Chelsea are primed to battle Barcelona for Leao.
Manager Enzo Maresca sees the 25-year-old as the perfect fit. Leao has impressed with nine goals and eight assists in 36 Serie A appearances.

AC Milan secured Leao on a contract that runs until 2028. His release clause stood at €175m until Milan lowered his fee to £66m.
Milan claim Leao did not progress as expected. The club may offload him along with Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Malick Thiaw, and Samuel Chukwueze.
Despite transfer talk, Leao remains a key figure for Milan. He played in all but two league matches under manager Sergio Conceicao.
In other news, Chelsea prepare a bid for Barcelona winger Ferran Torres at €30m. Tottenham now eye Borussia Dortmund’s 20-year-old Jamie Gittens with a potential bid of up to €100m, according to Christian Falk.
