Casper Ruud after the first round qualification: It was a pleasure and difficult.

Casper Ruud can’t hide his joy after passing the first round against the French Laurent Lokoli. It was not an easy match for Ruud, with the Norwegian that pretends to go till the end and win Wimbledon. It was Ruud that won the first set 1:6. Then Ruud faced high resistance losing the second 7:5, with Lokoli winning ground. But the history of the game changed and Casper Ruud sealed the victory taking the third and the fourth set 4:6, 3:6.

Ruud said after the game that he was extremely happy after the game, emphasizing the opponent, but at the same time making clear his ambitions to win Wimbledon. He said that will give the maximum to win the title and to pass the rounds, in spite of the difficulty and the opponents.

Laurent Lokoli was quite an opponent in the first round and he showed in particular moments of the game that he could turn the game around. Even in the first set, Ruud lost some important points in crucial moments. These were quite motivational for the French, who won the second set.

But Ruud was successful to close the game and advancing in the second round to face Liam Brody.
