Bernardo Silva after the winning goal: We have team spirit!

Bernardo Silva scored the second goal in Manchester City’s win with Newcastle at home and couldn’t hide his joy. The goal came only two minutes after he entered the field and resulted in the proper substitution, replacing Kevin De Bruyne.

Silva said he was very happy and the game was tough in a tough moment.

“When you play in Newcastle, how good they are this season, and arriving in the second half, losing 1-0, they go for it. They go for it because they need points and losing 1-0 or 2-0 or 3-0 is the same. We knew that they would press more and try and create more chances, so the second goal is good for us”

Bernardo Silva has something to say about Phil Foden’s goal and the change it brought to the game.

“Is one of those players that can decide the games for you that can take on one or two players and score a goal like today and happy, happy for him cause he went through a difficult period because of his injury. So he is back and we are very happy to have him back because like today he showed that can solve the games. He can solve some of our problems.”

“I think that the team is in good spirit at the moment. We know how difficult it is to compete every season in the Premier League and win the Champions League in all the competitions and we’ve had some tough moments this season, but we want to compete and do our best. We know that is gonna be tough in these last two to three months… It is not gonna be easy but we will fight for all the titles that we’re still involved in.”

Silva commented on the title race with Arsenal also saying that the chase is on.

“We dropped points against Forest which was very frustrating and Arsenal won their game in hand and we will see. We will focus on ourselves now. We cannot focus on Arsenal. We need to do our job because if we don’t no matter what does Arsenal.”
