Bayern Munich and Jamal Musiala find it difficult to have an agreement to renew the terms of the contract expiring on June 30, 2026.
The player’s value is around €130 million according to Transfermarkt and this is a high value for another club to pay, one of the highest in the market for a player. His skills and his performances are also at the highest levels, with Germany and Bayern Munich.
The coach Vincent Kompany needs some guarantee from Musiala and his transfer management studio 11WINS to stay and renew. He has some plans to create new tactical variations for Musiala. He can play as a number 10 or as a winger alternating all three positions during the game. He and Bayern are perfect machinery, but the uncertainty has broken this report.
But this is not a tactical question and the coach knows that. He has not spoken yet about the problem but is trying to figure out how to solve it smoothly. Another thing is the motivation and the way the player conceptualizes his adventure in Munich. So there is something else that is splitting the parts.
Economic Gap between the two parts
According to the Mirror and the local Bavarian press, there is an economic problem with his renewal. Bayern offers below £230k per week, with the player who wants a straight £300k per week. This is the gap that in all the scenarios, Bayern have to raise the offer if they want the player in their squad.
This is the main reason beyond any other desire to leave Munich. So there are a couple of things the player wants and the first one is clarity from Bayern. The club needs to be clear if they want to fulfill the player’s economic expectations or not. Another step is to have together with the new contract all the economic benefits and sports benefits deriving from the contract.

England Ahead
The first team interested in the player is Manchester City, who are willing to pay his salary and release clause. So this is a major step that can bring the player in Manchester with full economic privileges. Musiala is very interested, but the first steps need to be taken, in order to finalize this operation.
The second team is Manchester United, with the Red Devils that are willing to pay his contract of around £300k per week, but not his release clause. This is for a good reason: The player ends the agreement with Bayern after a season, including the current one. The board is not willing to pay Bayern a big sum, for a player who can join for free in 2026.
As it stands nothing is official, all three options are open for him with three big teams wanting his services. At the very end, Musiala himself will decide about his future, and this is not an easy decision.
