Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler led the charge as the Miami Heat secured a 121-111 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night, pushing their record back above the 500 mark.
Adebayo showcased his all-around brilliance, posting 25 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, while Butler added 24 points, delivering clutch moments in the final quarter.
Miami (11-10) capitalized on a strong second-half performance, outscoring Phoenix 68-53 after halftime. Duncan Robinson contributed 19 points off the bench, and Tyler Herro filled the stat sheet with 17 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. The Heat’s dominance in the paint, where they outscored the Suns 62-32, proved pivotal in securing their second straight win.
The Suns (12-10) saw solid contributions from Royce O’Neale, who led the team with 23 points, and Devin Booker, who added 21. Grayson Allen chipped in with 16 points, and Bradley Beal finished with 15. However, Phoenix struggled without Kevin Durant (left ankle sprain) and Jusuf Nurkic (right thigh contusion), falling to their eighth loss in nine games without Durant this season.
The absence of Durant highlighted Phoenix’s vulnerability. The Suns remain winless in games where they allow 120 points or more, with their defensive struggles magnified by Miami’s relentless interior attack. Despite strong starts, the Suns faltered in the second half, allowing Miami to pull away late.
Butler’s late-game heroics were the turning point. With just over four minutes left in regulation and Miami clinging to a three-point lead, Butler reeled off a personal 9-2 run in a span of 62 seconds. A three-pointer followed by two and-one conversions extended the Heat’s lead to 10, effectively sealing the victory.

Performance
For Adebayo, the performance marked a standout night on home court. His previous season-high scoring effort in Miami was 19 points, but his 25-point display emphasized his importance in the Heat’s offensive and defensive schemes. Miami improved to 3-0 this season when Adebayo scores at least 25 points, underlining his pivotal role in the team’s success.
Defensively, the Heat excelled by holding Phoenix to just 32 points in the paint and forcing critical turnovers down the stretch. Miami’s defensive discipline was reflected in their record, as they are now 10-3 when holding opponents under 115 points.
For the Suns, their struggles without Durant remain a glaring issue. With a 0-8 record when giving up 120 points, Phoenix has shown an inability to keep up with high-scoring teams in Durant’s absence. Beal’s 15 points marked a modest contribution in his return, but it was not enough to offset the Heat’s balanced attack.
The Heat have found a rhythm at home, winning three consecutive games at Kaseya Center for the first time this season. With Herro’s return to form and Butler delivering in crunch time, Miami appears poised to build momentum as they head deeper into the season.
Up next, both teams face quick turnarounds. Phoenix travels to Orlando on Sunday, aiming to snap their losing skid, while Miami hosts the Cleveland Cavaliers, who currently sit atop the NBA standings. For the Heat, another strong home performance could solidify their resurgence and establish them as a team to watch in the Eastern Conference race.
This win for Miami showcased not only the star power of Adebayo and Butler but also the depth and grit that could make the Heat a formidable opponent as the season progresses.
