Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese Suspended for 1 Game After 8th Technical Foul

Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese faces a one-game suspension for her eighth technical foul, missing the game against Indiana Fever.

Chicago Sky’s star, Angel Reese, received a mandatory one-game suspension from the WNBA for her eighth technical foul. This means she will sit out when the team takes on the Indiana Fever. According to league rules, players must serve an automatic suspension without pay upon reaching their eighth technical foul in a single season.

Reese, who had managed to avoid an eighth tech last season, reached this mark near the end of the first half in the Sky’s recent 88-64 victory over the Connecticut Sun. The incident occurred as she and Aaliyah Edwards battled for rebounding position, with Reese appearing to backhand Edwards on the side of the head. Despite the suspension looming, Reese contributed significantly to the win, finishing with 18 points and 13 rebounds for her 23rd double-double against the Sun.

Chicago’s victory over the Sun was a much-needed one as they had only secured 10 wins after suffering 30 losses this season. The Sky will now have to face the Indiana Fever without both Reese and Caitlin Clark, who is out for the rest of the season due to injuries.
