Detroit Lions trade Tim Patrick to Jacksonville Jaguars

Detroit Lions trade Tim Patrick to Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.

The Detroit Lions have made a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, sending wide receiver Tim Patrick to Jacksonville in return for a 2026 sixth-round pick.

Patrick, who joined the Lions as a free agent last year, had 33 catches for 394 yards and three touchdowns in 2024 as the team’s No. 3 receiver.

Despite being re-signed earlier this offseason, Patrick faced tough competition from new additions Isaac TeSlaa and Dominic Lovett, both of whom earned spots on the 53-man roster.

In camp, Patrick struggled and battled an injury, allowing TeSlaa to shine and potentially take over his role in the team’s offense.

The trade suggests the Lions’ trust in TeSlaa and leaves them with five wide receivers, including Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Kalif Raymond, TeSlaa, and Lovett.

It remains to be seen if the Lions will add a sixth receiver, with undrafted free agent Jackson Meeks being a candidate to watch after being waived.
