Lamar Jackson Escapes Injury Scare: Ravens Breathe a Sigh of Relief

The Baltimore Ravens received good news as quarterback Lamar Jackson avoided a serious injury scare during practice, calming fears within the organization.

After Jackson’s foot was stepped on in practice, concerns arose, but X-rays showed no damage, much to the relief of head coach John Harbaugh. While Jackson sat out Thursday’s practice, Harbaugh assured that it was merely precautionary to ensure his well-being for the upcoming season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

Given Jackson’s history of durability issues, including missing 10 games over the past two seasons due to knee and back problems, the Ravens are rightfully cautious with their star player. In 2021, Jackson’s absence contributed to the team’s 8-9 record and playoff miss. Even with backup Tyler Huntley stepping in the following season, the Ravens fell short in the playoffs, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals.
