Wolves midfielder Luke Cundle is on the brink of completing a permanent transfer to Millwall, with the 22-year-old currently undergoing a medical at The Den.
According to sources, the deal is set to be worth approximately £1 million, marking a significant step in Cundle’s career. Once the medical is finalized, he will sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Championship club.
Cundle’s time at Wolves has seen limited opportunities in the first team during the 2024-25 season, with the midfielder featuring mostly on the bench. His last notable appearances for the senior squad came in a handful of matches in the Premier League. However, the midfielder is now set to embrace a new challenge at Millwall, where he will aim to build on his previous Championship experience.
The 22-year-old has already gained valuable Championship experience through multiple loan spells. In the 2023-24 season, Cundle played for both Plymouth and Stoke City, making 43 appearances across all competitions. He impressed during this period, contributing seven goals and eight assists, showcasing his attacking potential. Prior to that, he also enjoyed a solid spell at Swansea in the 2022-23 campaign, registering seven goal involvements in 34 appearances.

Cundle’s development in the second tier of English football has been evident, and his ability to contribute both in terms of goals and assists has been a standout feature of his loan moves. His experience in the Championship will be crucial for Millwall as they look to improve their standing, with the club currently sitting 14th in the league under the management of Alex Neil.
While Cundle has been unable to cement a regular place in Wolves’ Premier League lineup, his time with the Midlands club has included a taste of top-flight action. He made seven appearances for Wolves at the highest level, a valuable experience that will no doubt benefit him as he looks to take the next step in his career at Millwall.
This move comes at a time when Wolves are in a transitional period, currently battling relegation in the Premier League, sitting 18th in the table. Meanwhile, Millwall have been proactive in the transfer window, already securing new signings such as Aaron Connolly and Tristan Crama. With a contract that runs until June 2026 at Wolves, Cundle’s permanent switch to Millwall represents a promising new chapter in his career, as both clubs continue their respective pushes for stability and success.
