The match started with Brentford attacking in the first minutes and keeping the possession with Jensen and Janelt.

Palmer successfully found Marc Cucurella in the 47th, but the Spaniard could not turn it into a useful ball. Brentford responded in the 51st, but Sanchez was there with a fine save.
Bryan Mbuemo crossed in the 58th and Pinnock scored the opener with a powerful header.

Aaron Hickey was substituted by Saman Ghoddos and this created an amazing chance in the 88th with a 4v2 situation but they could not profit.
