Turkey head coach Vincenzo Montella underlined the pride he has for his players, and said he had “no regrets” after exiting Euro 2024 with a 2-1 quarter-final defeat to Netherlands on Saturday.
Samet Akaydin opened the scoring in the 35th minute and Euro 2008 semi-finalists Turkey carried their lead into half-time.
Stefan de Vrij headed Netherlands level in the 70th minute though and a Mert Muldur own goal six minutes later was enough to take the ‘Oranje’ through to a last-four meeting with England.
