Buffalo Bills waive Frank Gore Jr., son of NFL legend, after impressive preseason.
The Buffalo Bills made the surprising decision to waive Frank Gore Jr., son of former NFL star Frank Gore, despite his standout performance in the preseason.
Gore Jr. showcased his skills by amassing 104 rushing yards on 23 carries and 109 receiving yards from 11 catches, a rare feat during the preseason.
Although signed as an undrafted free agent from Southern Miss last year, Gore Jr. failed to secure a spot on the 53-man roster, just like in the previous season. However, he might find himself back on the practice squad as he did last year.
At Southern Miss, Gore Jr. accumulated 4,022 rushing yards, 692 receiving yards, and scored a total of 30 touchdowns over four seasons.
Frank Gore, the father, is on track for eligibility in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026, boasting a remarkable career with 16,000 rushing yards, ranking third in NFL history.
Despite his son’s release, the elder Gore enjoyed a successful career, making five Pro Bowl appearances and earning one All-Pro selection, with standout years for the San Francisco 49ers and a brief stint with the Bills in 2019.
